Overview

Books, Reports and Two Quarterly Journals Since the 1970s

The Institute contributes to the banking and financial services sector through its focused research activities. Research findings are published as research papers in reputed, peer-reviewed journals, as well as in the form of books, reports, and working papers for dissemination to the banking industry.

The Institute has a diverse range of publications in tandem with its research and training functions. With over 100 books published so far, a major activity of the Institute is the regular publication of two quarterly journals in English: Prajnan: Journal of Banking and Financial Management, launched in 1972, and Vinimaya, launched in 1979.

These journals cater to professional managers, bankers, researchers, and educationists. Prajnan is a double-blind refereed journal covering research, brief articles, and commentary on banking, finance, and related areas, while Vinimaya is a practitioner-oriented journal that brings together conceptual and practical perspectives on the banking and financial services industry.

The Institute also has a full-fledged Desktop Publishing (DTP) department with graphic designers.

Vinimaya

Practitioner-oriented perspectives on banking and financial services.

Vinimaya is a practitioner-oriented journal that aims to lead the discourse among academicians, business executives, and thought leaders in the banking and financial services industry. The journal aims to enrich its readers with ideas that can be put into practice, share creative approaches for solving industry-related issues, and help readers make sense of the rapid changes in the industry landscape. Its content primarily caters to business managers; therefore, research that is extremely academic in nature is not suitable. Articles, however, need to be supported by strong arguments, suitable facts and figures, and appropriate analysis.

Industry experts may draw on their experience to offer points of view that enable readers to gain new perspectives on particular subjects.
